Autonomous’s Pod can be assembled in just eight hours, ready to be used as a home office, yoga studio or tiny guest house.
The freestanding structure measures just 98 sq ft, meaning it can squeeze into a spare spot in the backyard, or be transported to remote locations – with its foundation designed to accommodate uneven terrain. According to Autonomous, which makes several office products, many locations won’t require a building permit either.
Pod’s plywood walls are sandwiched around insulation, and the cabin can be ordered with air conditioning or heating built-in. The cabin is delivered ready-wired, which means owners just need to plug it in once construction is finished. Full height windows and a glazed end that opens straight onto the outdoors bring in plenty of natural light, as well as views of the surrounding location.
The cabin starts at $19,000 and can currently be delivered anywhere in the US.
